It is specially designed for kids aged below 12. Through various activities including interactive games, role-playing games and scene experiences, kids can discover the scientific phenomena around them whilst enriching their perception and the experience of childhood and excite their curiosity, imagination and creativity.
The wonderland has four sub-areas: My World, My City, My Workshop and My Home and Community.
My World features the secrets of nature: displaying the items of agriculture, animals and minerals. It hopes to inspire curiosity and an interest of ecology and teach children to respect nature.
My City covers the spectrums of transport, architecture, communication and energy in the city. Little visitors can learn about the theories of science and how to save energy in daily life.
My Workshop simulates the working space of scientists ad gives children a hand on approach to science.
My Home and Community leads children to learn more from daily life via games and creativity. It hopes to keep children thinking about the habits and behaviors that occur in daily life.
Some popular interactive experiences include:
A huge model of a kid's body shape lies on the ground, embedded with organ models such as heart, lungs, intestines and brain as well as jungle gym, ball pond and slider. Kids can not only exercise their bodies, but also learn the position and functions of major human organs.
In the supermarket, kids can choose food for their lunch just as their parents do, as well as select, pay and eat it. They can learn nutritional components of food and understand how to keep a balanced diet, develop a scientific and healthy eating habit, and practice their mathematics as well.
Kids can dismantle and install tyres, fenders, lamps and exhaust pipes with tools, whilst finding out about automobile parts such as the engine and accumulator battery. They can ride on a tricycle assembled by themselves around the School of Communication. In addition to practicing their operational abilities, they can also experience traffic rules.
Along a meandering river, kids discover villages, dams, rip currents, cities and docks. They build dams for farmland irrigation, operate derrick towers for freight handling, activate hydro powers for urban power supply, and control the ship locks for safe passage of freighters. By all these, kids visually observe the use of water, sinking and floating of objects in water, and the phenomena caused by water pressure and water flow.
With various props and stage effects, kids and their parents participate in the 20-minutes interesting and interactive performance, stimulating their curiosity, cultivating their imagination and creativity, so as to achieve the objective of scientific enlightenment.
